After installing IAW the supplied instructions , the tach did not work. I connected a wire from my 1986 Monte Carlo GM HEI terminal labeled tach , then to the main control box. After several hours of trouble shooting and checking different forums with no luck. I decided to bypass the factory installed voltage filter (not mentioned in the instructions) and the tach works great.
This kit is very well thought out and complete, which makes the installation very easy. The look and assembly , if you take your time, is better looking and functions so much better than oem.
